Co-Creator of the Dog Whisperer-Kay Sumner

Updated: Mar 2

Kay Sumner is a multifaceted talent, recognized for her impactful contributions as a non-profit founder, film and TV producer, and devoted mother of four. She and her husband, Murray Sumner, co-founded their non-profit, Not One More Time, Inc., for the purpose of bringing awareness and perspective to the global crisis of drug abuse. They are focused on creating educational media directed at young people to prevent them from becoming ensnared in a cycle of addictive behavior, as well as creating ‘coping skills’ to educate parents in their struggle to assist their children, family members, and peers. The motivation for its creation was due to the unfortunate loss of the two co-founder’s forty-three year old son to an unexpected opioid overdose. They struggled to understand how this could have happened, and how it could have been prevented. Filmmakers by profession, they chose to channel their grief and turn their talents into creating a critically acclaimed 55 min. documentary that would expose the destructive path that opioids can cause in the lives of everyday normal people.

Sumner has numerous notable achievements in television and film production. While she has produced dozens of programs throughout the US and Canada; she gained the most recognition for her work as a three time Emmy-nominated producer for the popular series “The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan.”

In addition to her success in television, Sumner has also made her mark in the film industry, having produced a feature film and produced/directed her award-winning documentary titledSurvivors.”
