Carolina Pelayo

My name is Carolina Pelayo and I am a holistic grief therapist, incorporating traditional and holistic counseling techniques. My journey has been shaped by profound challenges, resilience, and a deep desire to help others heal. I was born and raised in Mexico, but life took a sharp turn when I lost my father at the age of 14. This loss was compounded by my mother’s mental health struggles and her battle with gambling addiction, which led to the loss of everything we had.

Without knowing any English, I moved to the United States in search of a better life and to pursue a higher education. It wasn’t easy, as at the same time I was faced with the emotional weight of having an abortion, which spiraled me into a deep depression, having panicked attacks, with no desire to live. It was the first yoga class that truly transformed my life, gave me the clarity to turn my deep grief from the loss of my dad, my family life as I knew it and the trauma of an abortion that I realized my true path; to be a therapist.

After completing my psychology degree with a focus on grief, I then decided to further my education in the holistic health industry to deepen my counseling practice. I am a 500 RYT yoga educator, certified meditation and breathwork facilitator and believe in the deep healing work of sound healing, conducting sound baths.

I believe that the best therapy is combining the eastern and western techniques, while incorporating my own experience with deep grief to assist others as to live a vibrant, healthy life.

Through my journey, I’ve learned that grief comes in waves—it ebbs and flows, sometimes lightly and other times with great intensity. Wherever you are in your journey, I am here to help, whether you are facing an easy moment or working through the depths of your pain. My mission is to create a safe and nurturing space for healing, growth, and reconnection with your mind, body, and spirit. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey.

Karen Russell

Hi, my name is Karen Russell, I am the founder of Soul Mamas, a 500 RYT yoga instructor (certified yoga teacher with twenty-four years of experience) and certified Grief Educator who feels blessed to be of service to others. After my twenty-one year old son Conner died in a car accident, my world stopped and my DNA changed forever. If it wasn't for my deep faith, my family and my years of knowledge in the holistic health field, I don't think I could continue the waves of grief with grace.

After witnessing so many people in deep grief (especially parents), I realized that the traditional approach to counseling was lacking the holistic approach to healing the whole body.  I completed the Grief Educator course with David Kessler and coupled with over 24 years of experience in the health industry soon began my counseling offerings with a focus on healing your mind, body and soul.

Although, I offer sessions for all types of deep grief, my speciality is peer to peer sessions with parents who are going through the loss of a child. Each session is created for the individual needs, focusing on remedies that will enhance every aspect of your life.  For booking, please contact Donna to set up a free phone consultation at yoganohodonna@gmail.com - Blessings
